POST OFFICES - SECURING THEIR FUTURE

Nicholas Soames has called on West Sussex County Council and Mid Sussex District Council to provide detailed evidence to the Business and Enterprise Select Committee in the House of Commons which is reviewing the future services which are to be offered through the Post Office network.

Commenting Nicholas Soames said; “Post Offices are a vital part of the social architecture of our community; great harm has already been done by the Government to the network and considerable inconvenience caused to people in Mid Sussex.

“I shall be submitting my own evidence and I call on the District and County Councils to put forward a really vigorous and strong case that highlights the absolute necessity of retaining the network in Mid Sussex.”

Mr Soames said; “From all over my constituency I have complaints from people who are having to queue for an unacceptable length of time - this suffering and gross inconvenience is as a result of earlier closures.”

DISSOLUTION OF PARLIAMENT

Parliament has been dissolved until after the General Election on 12th December and there are now no MPs. This website is for reference of my work when I was a Member of Parliament.

I am not seeking re-election.
