Nicholas Soames and Labour MP Frank Field, today met with the Home Secretary, The Rt Hon Theresa May MP, to brief her on the work and objectives of the Cross Party Group on Balanced Migration and to discuss the Government's proposals on immigration. 

Nicholas Soames said; "This was a useful meeting. We support the Government strongly in the steps they are taking to deal with immigration, in particular the urgent need to reduce numbers.  We will be having a further meeting with the Home Secretary in September to discuss the Government's proposals."
