SOAMES OUT AND ABOUT IN MID SUSSEX

The House of Commons returns on Monday 10th October and Nicholas Soames has enjoyed spending time in his constituency during the recess. For example last week he undertook an extensive programme throughout Mid Sussex details of which are outlined below:-

Thursday 29th September

MORNING…

Nicholas chaired the Mid Sussex Cultural Seminar at Wakehurst place. The aim of the seminar which was organised by Mid Sussex District Council was to explore ways of improving the District’s tourism strategy and maximising its cultural assets.

LUNCH….

Nicholas then visited Warden Park School in Cuckfield to meet the Headmaster and to take part in a question and answer session with citizenship class students.

AFTERNOON…

Nicholas met with Lindfield residents for a site visit at Lyoth Lane/Gravelye Lane. In order to accommodate the Government’s housing targets Mid Sussex District Council has had to identify potential sites for development. The Lindfield site was included in the Council’s “small scale housing allocations development plan” which is currently at consultation stage.

EVENING….

Nicholas Soames was joined by his colleague Damian Green, Member of Parliament for Ashford, at a Mid Sussex Conservative Future discussion at the Mooch@76 bar in Burgess Hill.

The Association which was launched last year has gone from strength to strength recruiting new members and forming partnerships with the local authority and agencies to improve the infrastructure of the Estate.

Nicholas was a member of the panel of the Central Sussex College Student Union Question Time. Nicholas went head to head with Laura Moffatt, the Labour Member of Parliament for Crawley and Serena Tierney who represented the Liberal Democrats.
