On the 21st February 2005 the consultation period for Best Care, Best Place concluded. Subsequently there have been a series of service changes within the Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust and the local health economy. This was the first set of service changes as part of a 10-year strategy to help to develop and improve local services and hospital services for the Central Sussex population.
I have been heavily involved in the project on behalf of my constituents and I chaired a public meeting in the Clair Hall, Haywards Heath, on the 3rd November 2004 for local people. I would now like to invite members of the public to a further meeting that I am chairing in the Martlets Hall, Burgess Hill, on the 25th May 2006 at 7pm to discuss the progress made by the NHS in delivering the strategy.
The purpose of the meeting is to give members of the public the opportunity of reviewing the service changes that have taken place and to receive feedback on an evaluation of the service changes and provide an opportunity to comment on the process to date and the challenges for the future.
Most importantly, it is to give people an opportunity to hear some of the future work which will be undertaken as part of the Best Care, Best Place proposals and to engage in this process.
I look forward to welcoming you at the meeting.
