SOAMES CALCULATES HIS CARBON FOOTPRINT

Nicholas went really green on Friday and planted the six trees which he has donated this year for the enjoyment of local people in East Grinstead.

The 6 Oak trees were planted along the drive at East Court as a part compensation for the carbon emissions from his constituency office and the work in the community of the Association.

Speaking at the ceremony which was organised by East Grinstead Town Council Mr Soames said; “I am delighted to be able to give these trees for the enjoyment of the people of East Grinstead and as my own personal contribution to partially compensating for my own carbon footprint in the constituency. I am very grateful to the Town Clerk and the Mayor for their kindness in making the arrangements.”

“There are a host of websites which allow anyone to calculate their annual output or ‘carbon footprint’ and give advice on how to reduce emissions and it is worth looking at them.”

“I hope that local people will take pleasure from these trees and I shall re-calculate my carbon footprint each year and make this an annual donation to the community of Mid Sussex on behalf of myself and the Mid Sussex Conservative Association.”

Nicholas Soames will be planting the trees that he has donated to the people of Haywards Heath on Friday 23rd March.
