DEPARTMENTAL REGULATION

Nicholas Soames: To ask the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills if he will place in the Library a list of the deregulatory measures his Department has taken since May 2010. [37294]

Ed Davey MP; Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State: Since May 2010 the Department has not yet revoked any significant regulatory measures. However, we have launched a review of employment law, and are conducting a major fundamental review scrutinising the overall stock of BIS regulation, alongside legacy measures inherited from the previous Administration. The Home Office are leading on the Protection of Freedoms Bill due to be announced in February 2011, which will include a number of proposed repeals of primary and secondary legislation that have been identified as unnecessary.

DISSOLUTION OF PARLIAMENT

Parliament has been dissolved until after the General Election on 12th December and there are now no MPs. This website is for reference of my work when I was a Member of Parliament.

I am not seeking re-election.
