Nicholas Soames: To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department when she plans to announce the completion of the review into the future of criminal record checks and the vetting of volunteer workers.

Lynne Featherstone MP; Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State: The Government have commissioned a review of the criminal records regime which we expect to report within the next few weeks. We shall consider carefully and respond to the outcomes and recommendations of the review. The Government continue to be committed to reducing the barriers to volunteering.
