SKY LANTERNS: DROUGHTS

5th July 2018

Sir Nicholas Soames: To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, if he will bring forward legislative proposals to ban sky lanterns during periods of severe drought.

Dr Thérèse Coffey, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for the Environment: There are currently no plans to bring forward legislation in this area.

There is a responsibility on individuals to recognise the impact these products can have, particularly on very dry land.
