East Grinstead MP, Nicholas Soames, is to meet with the top Management of Royal Mail at the House of Commons to discuss the future of the Town’s Forbuoys sub Post Office.

Mr Soames said; “As soon as I was notified about the branch closure I made urgent representations to the Chief Executive of Royal Mail to underline the strength of anxiety locally, particularly amongst the elderly, over the threat to these invaluable and essential facilities.

“I have received written assurance that any closure will be temporary and that the Post Office is giving its urgent attention to ensuring that Post Office services are maintained in the area. I will be holding the Management to their word at our meeting.”

The meeting is to take place at the House of Commons on Tuesday 9th May
