Nicholas Soames, Member of Parliament for Mid Sussex, and Nick Herbert, Member of Parliament for Arundel and South Downs, were both delighted by the huge response, over the weekend, across the towns and villages of Mid Sussex to the Support the Princess Royal Hospital petition.
Commenting Nicholas Soames said; “Supporters of the campaign were collecting signatures in Burgess Hill, East Grinstead, Haywards Heath, Hurstpierpoint and Hassocks. Over 3,700 people signed the petition in two hours. This is a wonderful start to the campaign and shows people’s understandable concern and anxiety about what the new Primary Care Trust is proposing.”
From the 30th August supporters of the PRH will be able to log on to www.supportprh.com to sign the petition on-line.
Nicholas Soames said; “There will be many more opportunities to sign the petition including a town day in Haywards Heath on the 9th September but I hope as many people as possible will also sign the petition on-line.”
“I hope residents of Mid Sussex will show their support for the PRH by attending a public meeting which is being held by the Primary Care Trust on the 13th September at 6pm in Clair Hall, Haywards Heath. Nick Herbert and I will also be organising a PRH/NHS rally in Mid Sussex on Saturday 14th October.”
