Nicholas Soames and East Grinstead Mayor; Councillor Liz Bennett, perform the unveiling of the Marquette of the McIndoe Memorial Statue at the launch of the fundraising appeal at East Court in East Grinstead on Friday, 5th April, 2013.

This exciting project will honour the memory of Sir Archibald McIndoe, a pioneering plastic surgeon, and the people of East Grinstead who helped to rehabilitate the hundreds of severely burned patients that Sir Archibald treated during the Second World War. The Blond McIndoe Research Foundation, in collaboration with the East Grinstead Business Association and East Grinstead Town Council, has commissioned Martin Jennings to make the statue which will be funded by public donations.
