CYBERCRIME

Nicholas Soames: To ask the Minister for the Cabinet Office what recent steps the Government has taken to conquer threats in cyberspace; and if he will make a statement. [123665]

Miss Chloe Smith, Parliamentary Secretary, Cabinet Office: This Government has committed £650 million over four years to the National Cyber Security Programme, and the cross-Government Cyber Security Strategy:

sets out how we will support economic prosperity while protecting national security and safeguarding the public by building a more trusted and resilient digital environment.

The Government will provide an update on progress against the objectives of the Cyber Security Strategy one year on from its publication.
