East Grinstead MP, Nicholas Soames and Councillor Liz Bennett have together condemned the amount of litter around East Grinstead Railway Station.

Nicholas Soames said; “The litter is an eyesore and creates a bad first impression of the Town. Councillor Bennett and I are particularly concerned by the wider safety implications as there is evidence of bottles and graffiti on the underside of the bridge and I fear people might be taking unacceptable risks.”

“I have made representations to Network Rail and Southern Railway urging them to work together and if necessary with the local Police to address these issues.”
