TOURISM: SOUTH EAST

Nicholas Soames: To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Olympics, Media and Sport what the monetary value is of tourism to the south-east outside London. [115800]

John Penrose MP; Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Tourism and Heritage: Visit England's Great Britain Tourism Survey and Great Britain Day Visit Survey and the Office for National Statistics (ONS) International Passenger Survey report the following tourism expenditure in the south-east (excluding London), in 2011:

Domestic overnight tourism: £2.6 billion (source: GBTS)

Domestic day visits: £7.1 billion (source: GBDVS)

Inbound tourism: £1.9 billion (source: IPS).

DISSOLUTION OF PARLIAMENT
