John Penrose MP; Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Tourism and Heritage: Visit England's Great Britain Tourism Survey and Great Britain Day Visit Survey and the Office for National Statistics (ONS) International Passenger Survey report the following tourism expenditure in the south-east (excluding London), in 2011:
Domestic overnight tourism: £2.6 billion (source: GBTS)
Domestic day visits: £7.1 billion (source: GBDVS)
Inbound tourism: £1.9 billion (source: IPS).
