Nicholas Soames spoke to a large class of 8-10 year olds at Northlands Wood School in Haywards Heath on Friday.

Paul Johnson, their teacher, had asked Mr Soames to come to talk about his grandfather, Sir Winston Churchill, as the children are making a special study of the Second World War.

Nicholas Soames said; “They were a fantastic class of children. Bright, well informed and they asked terrifyingly clever questions! It was a great privilege and pleasure and I was very pleased to be asked by Paul Johnson to address the class. I was delighted to do so.”
