NICHOLAS SOAMES CALLS FOR URGENT ACTION ON THE A264 HOLTYE ROAD IN EAST GRINSTEAD

Nicholas Soames met with local residents, Mr and Mrs Barlow and a Highways official on Friday to see the very dangerous situation on the A264 Holtye Road outside Pumphouse Farm.

Nicholas Soames said; “I am satisfied that this is a dangerous site where they have already been some serious accidents; indeed it is a miracle in my view that no-one has been killed there.

“I believe that it will be possible to create a situation to improve the problem and West Sussex County Council is to come forward with some urgent ideas as to what can be done; including double yellow lines, improved signage and road narrowing.”

Mr Soames said; “I am very grateful to Mr and Mrs Barlow and other local residents for alerting me to this very serious problem which we need to see resolved.”
