Nicholas attended a tree planting ceremony at St Giles Primary School on Friday as part of their eco-week.
Speaking at the ceremony which was organised by Horsted Keynes Parish Council Mr Soames said; “I am delighted to be able to give these trees for the enjoyment of the pupils of St Giles Primary School and as my own personal contribution to partially compensating for my carbon footprint in the constituency. I am very grateful to the Parish Clerk for her kindness in making the arrangements.
“It is an honour to be part of the School’s eco-week and to hear about the range of activities which the children have been participating in.
“There are a host of websites which allow anyone to calculate their annual output or ‘carbon footprint’ and give advice on how to reduce emissions and it is worth looking at them.”
In attendance:
Nicholas Soames MP
Chairman of Horsted Keynes Parish Council; Mrs Lynne Mulcare
Headmistress, Governors and pupils of St Giles Primary School
