Commenting on today’s net migration figures, Nicholas Soames MP and Frank Field MP; Co-Chairmen of the Cross Party Group on Balanced Migration said;

“These new figures illustrate the difficulty of getting immigration down as the British public most certainly want. They also confirm the need for a target as a focus for Government policy. Without the target, net migration today would have been much higher. However, no useful target can be achieved without a major increase in resources devoted to defending our borders.”
