Sajid Javid, Financial Secretary to the Treasury: The Government supports the work of the IMF and the World Bank to ensure stability in the international system and to promote economic development. The IMF and World Bank already work closely together in areas of shared responsibility. While the Government supports the need for effective coordination between the two institutions, there are no active policy discussions to merge the two institutions.
