Nicholas Soames: To ask the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government what criteria his Department uses to determine the number of houses to be built in Mid Sussex constituency.
Robert Neill MP; Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State: Local authorities and communities should decide the number of houses needed in their area, based on robust evidence. We propose, through the Localism Bill, to remove regional housing targets, and to support local decisions through the New Homes Bonus. We will confirm planning for housing policy in the National Planning Policy Framework.
