Nicholas Soames: To ask the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change if he will make a statement on the current position of negotiations with EDF for a contract for electricity from Hinkley Point C. [154985]
Michael Fallon, Minister of State for Business and Enterprise: It would not be appropriate to make a statement at this stage of the commercial negotiations. Should any agreement be reached in relation to an investment contract for Hinkley Point C, I will make a statement as required by the Energy Bill at the time I lay the contract before Parliament. In addition, in the case of Hinkley Point C, the Government has committed to provide summaries of reports from external advisers and analysis on the value for money of any contract agreed.
