Hugh Robertson, Minister of State for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office: The UK has a deep and strong relationship with its Gulf Co-operation Council partners. The Gulf Initiative, launched in 2010, has sought to co-ordinate and develop the relationship further. In its recent report, the House of Commons Foreign Affairs Committee broadly endorsed Government policy towards the region.

We continue to look at ways to strengthen our relationship with the Gulf states.
