Sir Nicholas Soames: To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, what information he has received from the England and Wales Wildlife Forum on the effectiveness of the Fire Safety Index.

Dr Thérèse Coffey, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for the Environment: Natural England are currently working with the Met Office and the National Parks to objectively review the operation of the Fire Severity Index (FSI), based on the relevant science. We have had contact with the England and Wales Wildfire Forum and they will be invited to provide information on the effectiveness of the FSI during the on-going stakeholder engagement process.
