Sir Nicholas Soames: To ask Mr Chancellor of the Exchequer, at what level he intends to set the apprenticeship levy; and if he will make a statement.

Greg Hands, Chief Secretary to the Treasury: Employer investment in skills has been a problem since the 1990s. The new apprenticeship levy will mean that firms that are committed to training will be able to get back more than the put in. Further details will be set out at the spending review.
