SOUTH EAST COAST AMBULANCE

18th July 2016

Sir Nicholas Soames, the Member of Parliament for Mid Sussex, has called on the Secretary of State, Jeremy Hunt MP, to undertake an enquiry into the past management of the South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust, after the Trust was issued with a warning notice by the Care Quality Commission [CQC], the Health Regulator.

Sir Nicholas said; “Despite the excellence of most of their staff the Trust has recently had a very disappointing record, its service to patients has been nowhere near good enough.

“This is a failure, not of the Crews and the Paramedics, but of a consistent lack of management and leadership and a very disappointing lack of transparency.

“I urge the Secretary of State to have a full and open enquiry as to why these matters were not dealt with earlier.”
